PUBLIC UTILITY
In the summer of 2007, almost all the 159 villages of Patamda and Boram Blocks had acute crisis of safe drinking water. The volunteers of the Society conducted a survey of almost all the villages from April 2007 to July 2007 to collect applications from the villagers for repair of tube wells which were out of order. This report was then submitted to the concerned Executive Engineer at Jamshedpur. With the efforts of the society, almost all the tube wells were repaired by the department.
To streamline the job of maintenance of tube wells by the concerned authorities, the villagers were educated to seek information from them under the Right to Information Act, 2005. The effort resulted in the department publishing an advertisement in the local Newspaper to facilitate lodging of complaints and speedy repair of tube wells.
